The Cozy Sunset is a story shot by Dima Kurguzov a fashion photographer from St. Petersburg, Russia. His works are thoughtful contemplation on edgy stylistic decisions, city landscapes and characters caught in the architectural lines and structures.

The character from the modern fashionable girl from the city is transformed to the nymph of the woods who relaxes in the light of the sun. Lights and shadows become a main thematic element of the shoot and create a dreamy atmosphere with a delicate play on the facial features of the model. The out of focus technique used in several frames adds a glowy feel and pulls a viewer inside the atmosphere of the warming up weather.

Moving to black and white shots builds a cycle of day and night, the recurrence of the story that might take place on the following day. The magic is uncovered with the sunset when every detail is filled with a new color, the dress changes to the glittery almost transparent piece, and we dive into the night.

"THERE IS NOTHING BAD IN LAZINESS IF YOU REALLY WANT IT".

Tell about the shoot and the main idea for the feeling you chose to convey with this story.

We wanted to show an informal mood of the model, to show the beauty of laziness. There is nothing bad in laziness if you really want it. It's not a sin. It's the same mood, just like being perky or funny.

What is most important for you while shooting outdoors in terms of light you prefer to work with and shadows playing with colors of model’s features?

In the concept of the photo shoot, the important thing is sunset: its smooth light can pass color depth, pass our idea's mood. Also, while shooting outdoors, we needed dynamics to make frames lively. I like to make artificial shadows to pass smooth facial features of the model or contrast of light on the face.

"NEUTRAL (NUDE) COLORS IN CLOTHING, THANKS TO WARM SUNSET'S LIGHT, GET DEEPER".

Tell about the collaboration with Eversale Vintage concept store, the idea you had for styling, nude colors, day dresses, and gowns.

Of course, thanks to Eversale Vintage, we approached to make our idea real. Magic dress-robe, strict suit, and transparent dress-glitter, which seem to form star scattering on the model's body, played a special role in our photo shoot. At first sight, it's daily clothing, but in combination with tiny details, such as a hat and a bag, it creates a special style. Neutral (nude) colors in clothing, thanks to warm sunset's light, get deeper.

Yes. We work with the same team of professionals. On every shoot, it needs concentration and responsibility of all team, but it's also important for the team to enjoy work.
